I teach a Bible study on Wednesday nights called Motherwise: Wisdom for Mothers. Chapters 4 and 5 are about our relationships with our husbands. We had guest speakers come in and share with us how they keep the romance alive in their marriage as well as how they keep their marriage going and keeping God at the center of it.

When we were finished they shared with us 22 things you can do to show your husband you love them....and these can also be done by hubby for their wives. I thought I would share them with ya'll

1. Call to see if you can pick up anything on the way home from work.

2. Send a dozen roses: 11 red roses and 1 white rose. The note says "In every bunch there's one who stands out--and you are that one.

3. Float a love note in a bottle in the bathtub.

4. Call him at work and say: "Hello handsome! Are you free tonight?"

5. Get tulips and attach this note: "I've got two-lips waiting for you!"

6. Hire a masseuse to give your partner a professional massage at home.

7. On cold mornings warm up her/his car.

8. Bring flowers home for no reason (well, the reason is love)>

9. Send a beautiful romantic greeting card.

10. Go to a second honeymoon.

11. Give sunflowers- plus Stevie Wonder's song "You are the sunshine ofmy life."

12. Bring home one flower a day for one solid month.

13. Collect romantic and inspirational quotes. Write them in a journal and give it to your partner as a gift.

14. Trace "I love you " on a stick of butter or margarine.

15. Have a pillow fight.

16. Always have tapes of romantic music in your car.

17. When window shopping, secretly note what your partner likes then return later to pick up that something special.

18. Put a piece of jewelry in her jewelry box and wait for her to notice it.

19. Cover the room with helium balloons

20. Write notes on Post-It notes and stick them around the house.

21. Toss a coin in a fountain and make a wish together.

22. For parents only: spend a whole afternoon taking photgraphs of your family.

I am sure there are lots and lots of other ways to share and show our loves for your partners. If you have some others that are what you use please don't hesitate to leave me a comment on what they are and I will add them to the list.

May God bless your day in an extraordinary way today!

Guess who had a birthday in our house today!

DADDY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's right today was Richard's birthday. Happy Birthday to the man of my dreams and the best daddy I have ever known.

Richard is always there with a smile and a patient heart for Caleb, Robert and Sarah. He is always willing to lay on the floor so they can play 'climb mount daddy'. He is always there to read a story or have someone sit on his lap. He is always there to provide comfort and love when someone is hurt. He is also there to gently give punishment and guidance when bad choices are made. He is always there to make 'pancakes' when a little boy sits in his face while daddy is sleeping on a Saturday saying "I want pancakes!!!!" He is always there to ask one of the kids to help him make a bookcase or get the mail or set the table or work on the lawn. I only occasionally see him lose his cool but even then he is there to sit quietly and talk about the differences between bad choices and good choices and to love up on them even when bad choices are being made.

Richard you are the best daddy and our children couldn't have a better daddy if they mail ordered him from God themselves.

I am also very blessed to have you as my husband. You always think of me and the type of day I have had. You are always there to take over when you come home from work to give me a break. You do all the baths and putting to bed. You always are willing to rub my aching back with bengay even when you really don't want to. You lead our home like no one I know. Your love of Christ shines through everything you do and I lean on that daily. Our life didn't start off like the normal couples life does but God knew what He was doing in keeping us for no other then each other. I can't express to you enough or do enough for you to show you just how much my life would be void and empty without you.

So on this day they day your mother brought you into this world.. the day God declared for your arrival I thank you for who you are, what you do and I thank you God for everything about you. Besides the special birthday supper of prime rib, mashed cauliflower, asparagas, salad and instead of birthday cake a birthday chocolate cream pie I pray for you a day filled with blessings beyond your dreams, love beyond your hearts ability to contain it and laughter to split your side.

I love you more today then I did yesterday but most definately more then tomorrow!!!

Renewing Wedding Vows

Our church has been doing a life lesson on Red Hot Monogamy. Pastor Dan has been talking for over a month now on God's view of what marriage is and should be about. How we are supposed to live that life of marriage according to the Bible.

Well we are almost done with this life lesson and the church planned a Renewing of Wedding Vows Sunday. It was beautiful!!!! They talked about in the Jewish faith (which our's is based on cuz my King was Jewish) and the meaning of the hupa (sp) canopy. Why it is designed the way it is and what it all stands for. They also taught about the Celtic tradition of wrapping your (husband/wives) hands with a white piece of cloth and how that shows the binds that bind us together as husband and wife. They had 4 stations around the church and renewed the vows of 2 couples at a time at each station. You were surrounded by your family (kids too) and they had the kids place their hands on ours showing our committment to them as well. It was just beautiful. Of course I cried some, romatic fool that I am. We also had a couple picture taken. Once they email them to us I will try to post it here as well. They even had a station for those dating or engaged to have their own committment ceremony and for those who were single to commit themselves to God again or maybe even for the first time. They really thought of everyone and engaging everyone in the whole service. They did a GREAT job as far as I am concerned.

Finally Right???

I know, I know I haven't updated this site in a long time... please forgive me. Life in this house has been absolutely nuts since my surgery.

First I have lost 30lbs since September and already my old clothes are too big for me. Thank God I never got rid of most of my old clothes as I grew out of them so I do have some transition clothes to wear. Everyone in the house has been sick on and off for a couple months. I can't wait for this weather to even out and either be hot or cold but not hot one day cold the next, hot one day cold the next...... At the moment everyone is well. I have about 7 cameras that need to be developed with various pictures that go back to July if you can believe that. I need a new digital camera for sure...As soon as I start getting them developed I will post some pics...not sure of the order so it will be a mystery posting.....LOL

Christmas was great. We had Christmas at our house this year. First Christmas in the new house. We still have the normal 19-2o people here but with the bigger house everyone was able to spread out....My mom even made a last minute decision to come down. It was nice having her here, not sure she liked the stairs though because of her bad knees. But she did have her own room she could run and hide in and close the door.... next time she will have a lock to :)

Well today I have to get the kids Valentines ready for school tomorrow...Will definately post another post on the happenings of today and I promise pictures when I can get them developed.
